First launch

One sign-in, two one-time downloads (the AI model and a library pack), then CLAIR works offline from then on.

1. Sign in

  1. Open CLAIR and enter the email address your CLAIR access is registered to, the same one your invitation came from.
  2. CLAIR emails you a 6-digit code. Enter it in the app.

That's the whole process. There is no password to create or remember. This sign-in is the one moment CLAIR needs the internet on first launch; afterward it checks in quietly every so often to confirm access is still valid, but this never interrupts your work. A spotty connection or Wi-Fi that's temporarily off never locks you out.

2. Let CLAIR set itself up

  1. CLAIR detects your machine's hardware (CPU, RAM, and a graphics card if you have one) and picks a starting AI model sized to it. There is nothing to configure.
  2. CLAIR fetches that model (2 to 17 GB depending on your hardware tier) and a one-time library pack (about 1.5 GB, needed for Predict, NLP, forecasting and advanced statistics). You won't see either download again on later launches.

3. You're in

CLAIR opens to the Projects screen. From here, import a file to start analyzing.

What CLAIR needs

  • 16 GB of RAM is the comfortable baseline. CLAIR runs its AI model locally, so it needs some memory headroom. Machines with less will still run, with a smaller, less-capable model substituted automatically.
  • An Intel Arc graphics card (integrated or discrete) is detected and used automatically. There's nothing to turn on. See Troubleshooting: GPU not used on Intel Arc if it doesn't seem to be working.
  • No GPU at all is fine. CLAIR runs on CPU too, just more slowly on the larger models.
