Free during the alpha
No card, no trial clock. Access during the alpha is assigned by the CLAIR team to invited testers, not purchased.
What it consolidates
One offline tool, instead of several
CLAIR brings together capabilities a research group would otherwise assemble from a handful of separate commercial tools. We are not publishing a total dollar comparison here: the figure would depend on your institution's own licensing and headcount, and we would rather leave it out than guess. What we can say without guessing: CLAIR delivers all five of the categories below on device, with no data leaving your machine, which the cloud tools in the right-hand column structurally cannot do.
| Capability | Typical commercial equivalent | CLAIR |
|---|---|---|
| AutoML (hyperparameter search, stacking, leaderboards) | DataRobot, H2O Driverless AI | On device, included |
| Statistical testing | SPSS, SAS, Stata | On device, included |
| Forecasting | Commercial time-series suites | On device, included |
| NLP and text analytics | Cloud NLP APIs | On device, included |
| BI and dashboards | Tableau, Power BI | On device, included |
Licensing, in plain terms
How access works once you're in
It's tied to your device, not shared around
Signing in activates CLAIR on the specific machine you're using. Moving to a new machine rebinds the license there; rebinding is subject to a 30-day cooldown between moves, so it isn't meant for daily switching between two machines.
Online to activate and renew, offline to use
The one moment CLAIR needs the internet is signing in. After that, it checks in quietly in the background to confirm your access is still valid, but this never interrupts your work: a spotty connection or Wi-Fi that's briefly off never locks you out mid-session.
Sign-in is a 6-digit code, not a password
Enter the email your invitation was sent to, CLAIR emails a 6-digit code, and you enter it in the app. Nothing to create or remember.
Alpha access runs for a fixed window
An assigned alpha license is valid for a set period from the day it's assigned, and renews itself silently within that window as long as you're signed in. If you're stuck or your window needs extending, email us and it's fixed on our end.
What happens after the alpha
Pricing beyond the alpha has not been set. When it is, this page will say so plainly, with real numbers, not a placeholder. Nothing about the free alpha period auto-converts to a paid plan without you being told first.
